What time should you go clam digging? Or when will the tide be good for surfing?
This simple little tide clock will show you high tide and low tide.
To set it up, simply place the hand at the top during high tide in your region (eastern Canada only); it will do the rest afterward.
All tide clocks have deviations of up to one hour when they are correctly set.
It is important not to readjust the clock during these deviations, as it will affect overall accuracy. Set the clock only on days of full moons or new moons for accurate results.
Accuracy may vary by about one hour. Tide clocks only work on semi-diurnal coasts. Also, if special tidal phenomena occur in your region, this mechanism will not be able to follow them accurately.
